Holly Willson

I am an Artist in Holland, Michigan. Art was my thing even in grade school. I had a career as a graphic designer, package designer and business owner. I live in Laketown Township, just outside Saugatuck, on 6.5 acres of lush wooded property bordered by Halfway Creek and surrounded by thousands of ferns. Easy enough to be inspired to paint year 'round in that location. I currently paint in pastel, watercolor and acrylic. I have had a passion for pastel for a number of years. The color is so intense I love it. My subject matter tends to be nature; landscapes, flowers and animals. I am currently painting watercolor batiks on rice paper. The technique is enjoyable and the results are always somewhat of a surprise. I also enjoy the design quality of that work. I like to experiment with mixing soft pastel, oil pastel and Acrylic over gessoed textured papers, as well. I am always interested in experimenting and finding new ways to make art.
