Shirley Brauker Gallery Talk   September 23, 7-8pm

Shirley M. Brauker is a Native American artist and creator of Moon Bear Pottery and Indian Arts. Her art reflects her Native American heritage to help create a style of art unique to her. She attended Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor's, Masters, and PhD.  

Join Shirley as she talks about her work on display in the Art of the People: Contemporary Anishinaabe Artist exhibit at the Saugatuck-Douglas History Center.
 
"The Stories behind My Work”
Every picture tells a story. In Shirley Brauker’s world and work her stories influence her work, they are intertwined with each piece. Listen to Shirley’s stories that she tells by examples of her work. The stories include her thoughts on women in the Anishinaabe culture as well as her connection to the Creator.
