CREATIVITY – A short and cheerful guide by John Cleese
Wednesday, April 21 Meet and greet from 6:15–6:30 before the 6:30 to 8:30pm Zoom meeting. Join Judy Anthrop for a discussion of CREATIVITY – A short and cheerful guide by John Cleese Trained as an attorney, John Cleese’s path became that of a journalist, writer, actor, comedian, actor and screen writer. In addition to writing and co-starring in A Fish Called Wanda and Fierce Creatures, he was a founder of the Monty Python comedy troupe. He challenges the premise is that “creativity is something you have to be born with” claiming “Anyone can be creative.” Cleese suggests that most people think of creativity as being entirely about the arts like music, painting, theater, movies, dancing or sculpture. He says this simply isn’t so. Creativity can be seen in every area of life — in science, in business, or in sport. Simply put, creativity is embracing new ways of thinking about things, and teaching people how to create circumstances in which they will become creative. John’s upbeat book is all about these premises, and he clearly develops the skills and circumstances to make changes to let creativity grow and develop. All members will be sent an invitation to the program via email. |
