How can someone look at a work of art inside out?
Does it mean wearing your shirt with the inside part facing out?
Quite hardly!

When you manically search for something and disarrange a room,
you turn it inside out.
This also happens when you look at art.
It takes turning a piece of art into a visual disarray to find the meaning.

Knowing something inside out means you know it very well. For most people art is challenging to know very well.
It takes time to know something inside out.

Maryjo Lemanski, Artist and Art Educator will lead a visual road trip through the seven masterpieces from the DIA. In this hands on exploration, you will disarrange the paintings to find the meanings.

On this 2-day journey, you will use a guide that includes, composition, shapes, gestures, textures, lines and values. You will also use crayons, streamers, tea and sandpaper to discover why these works of art
are famous paintings.

By the end of the road trip, you are guaranteed to know The DIA treasures works of art Inside Out!
