Susan Flanagan

Every artist has been given a gift, the ability to see an occasional glimpse of the beauty that originates in God, the sole creator of all things. I work to interpret and convey that moment of beauty to others.
Whether it is representational or abstract, I love to experiment! Taking risks keeps art exciting for me. I am not afraid of disappointing results because the process is so interesting, and I look forward to the result. Soft pastel is my first love and I enjoy pushing it to its limits. I also love to use oil, acrylic, collage, and any combination.
Beautiful color and strong contrast are common to all my work. I love achieving the illusion of depth.
I have been teaching for many years. Inspiring people to explore their creativity gives me great joy. I know that art is healing for body, mind, and spirit.
I opened Pine Tree Studio and Gallery with the goal of building a community of creative people. It is a place of encouragement, a place to learn and explore. Above all, it is a place to have fun! It is located at 6596 146th Ave. in Holland, Michigan. It is near Saugatuck and Douglas.
Visit my website to see my work and to sign up for classes or workshops. I hope to see you soon.
