"One of a Type" Monoprint Workshop at Ox-Bow
on September 16, 2020
Delve into the Ox-Bow experience and spend a morning on campus working with one of the printmaking faculty to explore the world of monotypes.
Everyone will have a chance to explore the endless possibilities of monotypes. This process is appropriate for artists of all levels, no prior printmaking, drawing or painting experience is needed. In other words, anyone can do this!
A lunch prepared by the fabulous chefs in the Old Inn will end our morning at Ox-Bow. Lunch will be served per COVID restrictions.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to have a private workshop at Ox-Bow, an immersive environment for artists to explore traditional and contemporary modes of art-making.
Space is limited. Sign up below as soon as possible! $45 per person
We will be working outside under a tent in the Ox-Bow Meadow. Masks and social distancing will be required.

"In this workshop we will experiment with one of the most intuitive, playful, and painterly forms of printmaking - monotype! Monotype prints are one of a kind, individually made prints pulled from ink that has been applied directly to a "print matrix" or plate (in this case, a piece of plexi-glass). This workshop will investigate intuitive and iterative hand printing techniques as well as printing on the press. Monotype prints can be as loose and fast, or as tight and focused as you like. In fact, "mistakes" in this process are welcome and encouraged! Monotype printing is a process that is easy to reproduce in ones own studio with minimal equipment, and is a great addition to any painting and drawing practice."
